Hi, I’m Gio.
I’m a music and sound creative who turns inspired ideas into award-winning audio experiences. Currently Senior Creative Director & Music Technologist at duotone audio group, where I’ve spent the last decade crafting sonic landscapes for advertising, film, and TV.
I started at 12 in Denver with a mic from the segunda, a hand-me-down desktop, and chronic insomnia. I taught myself production through pure obsession, which led me to NYU’s Clive Davis Institute, and eventually to duotone.
I live to bring clients’ biggest creative dreams to life: recording the cast of The Lion King on Broadway for Bud, chasing the perfect horsehair fiddle tone for Netflix, blending traditional composition with emerging tech and AI. Along the way I’ve earned Cannes Lions (all the metals…), a Children’s Emmy, One Show and Andy Gold, and credits on Oscar-nominated films. I’ve been described as “annoyingly capable,” which I’ll take as a compliment.
My Chicano roots have found fertile soil in Mexico, where I live with my wife, two dogs, and two cats. Off the clock: sci-fi novels, analog photography, and my artist project losiento, bilingual genre-bending folktronica that blends my two worlds.
Hit me up with your wildest audio dreams and most impossible musical tasks. I’m always ready to help.
